eCOPE – a directory of perinatal mental health services
eCOPE is Australia’s first directory of perinatal mental health services that lists professionals with demonstrated expertise in perinatal mental health.
This directory of perinatal mental health services is designed to meet the challenge of finding timely support and treatment for mental health problems and associated risk factors during and after pregnancy. This includes while:
- Planning a family
- Expecting a baby
- Preparing for birth
- In first year (or more) of parenthood
- Experience grief and loss
eCOPE can be used by referring health professionals, women and their families, and has been developed with support from the Commonwealth Government of Australia.
Perinatal mental health services listed on eCOPE
Services listed in the eCOPE Directory may be provided face-to-face, online, or a hybrid of both. Services to support mental health and wellbeing for people trying to conceive, pregnant women, mothers, and their families include support for (but not limited to):
- Antenatal or postnatal depression and/or anxiety
- Birth trauma
- Family Violence
- Fear of birth
- Gender Disappointment
- Hyperemesis Gravidarum
- Infertility support
- Miscarriage
- Multiple births
- NICU / Premature Birth Distress
- Perinatal loss
- Relationships
- Sleeping and settling

Information about eCOPE for Health Professionals
In order to qualify for listing, individual health professionals are required to have current professional membership with their respective Colleges and demonstrate specific training and expertise in perinatal emotional and mental health.

On receiving your online registration, COPE will assess submissions for their inclusion. Those services not deemed as having sufficient perinatal expertise may not qualify for inclusion on the eCOPE subdirectory.
Following assessment, COPE will contact you and inform you of the outcome of your registration submission.
