Motherhood, particularly those early years, can be incredibly lonely – at a time when women need support the most.
Mama Tribe – A COPE Community
An important update on Mama Tribe
From June 2026, Mama Tribe Facebook groups will be fully delivered by COPE.
Build community connection by joining your local Mama Tribe Facebook Group
Supporting the wellbeing of all new, hopeful and expectant parents
Adjusting to parenthood can be a vulnerable time when many new mums experience loneliness and isolation. The social benefits of online and in-person connection and interaction can play a critical role in supporting mental and emotional health in the perinatal period.
Membership is free
COPE’s Mama Tribe Facebook Groups is a welcoming and inclusive network for mums, with over 60,000 members across more than 40 locations. Membership to a group is free.
Member-led meetups
All mums are encouraged to interact online within their Facebook group and arrange their own face-to-face meetups. Being part of a community of mums who are navigating the same joys and challenges can make all the difference.
Cassie Mama Tribe Gold Coast group memberBeing part of Mama Tribe is a sense of belonging; it truly is a village! I love how the page is all about connecting and simply reaching out to other mums. I am always amazed at how friendly, fun and down to earth the mamas are.
What resources can I access after I join a group?
After joining a Mama Tribe Facebook group, members receive monthly COPE updates and direct access to resources such as:
- Ready to COPE - practical resources and information for new and expectant parents
- Real stories from other parents - so you know you're not alone in your experience
- Health and wellbeing self-checks - to help you understand how you're feeling and when to seek support
- COPE Directory - to help you find specialist and community support when you need it most
- Expert perinatal mental health advice from Dr Nicole Highet, founder and executive director of COPE.
- Opportunities to share your experience via forums or the media to help raise awareness and reduce stigma and educate others.
Together we are changing the face of perinatal support in Australia – and we’d love you to join us!
