Important: Self-checks are not a diagnostic tool

Please note, the DASS-21 and City Birth Trauma Scale self-check tools are not to be used for a diagnosis, but rather to identify whether the user may benefit from further information and/or support.

DASS-21 Self Checks

The DASS-21 stands for Depression, Anxiety Stress Scale - 21 Items. It is a 21-item self-report questionnaire that measures the severity of depression, anxiety, and stress. The DASS-21 is a shortened version of the original DASS-42 and consists of seven questions for each of the three categories.

In addition to the DASS-21, there are focused self-checks; Depression, Anxiety, and Stress

DASS-21 Infertility Self Checks

The DASS-21 Infertility self-checks are designed to measure the severity of depression, anxiety, and stress for individuals experiencing infertility.

The following questions are designed to help you assess how extreme symptoms of nausea and vomiting are during pregnancy.  This can help identify when it might be time to seek help, as well as track changes in symptoms over time.

City Birth Trauma Scale (City BiTS)

This short form of the City Birth Trauma Scale is a 5-item questionnaire designed to measure Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms and their potential impact upon your mental health following childbirth.

As birth trauma can be experienced by both parents, it can be a helpful tool to identify whether you may benefit from additional support following a birth that may have not gone to plan.

Postnatal Rage Scale - Exploring dimensions of anger reactions (DAR-5)

Experiencing anger or feelings of rage is often experienced by parents. Anger is associated with significant distress and can impact upon your feelings towards parenthood, your baby and those around you. It can also be a sign of other emotional and/or mental health issues.
